Finding Tacos

Finding Good Tacos on a Budget

Tacos can be economical, but price comparisons are easily distorted by tortilla size, filling amount, required minimums, service fees, delivery charges, and whether sides are included.

Compare the complete order

A three-taco plate with rice and beans may cost less than three individually priced premium tacos. Delivery can add fees that make a nearby pickup order much cheaper. Check whether salsa, lime, and garnishes are included.

Use specials carefully

Happy-hour and weekday specials can provide value, but confirm the eligible times, dine-in rules, minimum purchase, and whether the special uses the regular portion. Do not travel far for a small discount that disappears in transportation costs.

Choose fillings with value in mind

Slow-cooked pork, beans, potatoes, eggs, and seasonal vegetables can deliver excellent flavour at lower prices than premium seafood or oversized novelty tacos. A simple, well-made taco often beats a complicated one.

Order enough, not too much

Start with two or three tacos per adult depending on size and sides. You can add another taco if needed. Over-ordering wastes both food and money, especially when crispy shells and dressed tacos do not store well.

Quick checklist

  • Compare plates with à-la-carte prices
  • Include fees and transportation
  • Check special restrictions
  • Consider satisfying lower-cost fillings
